Stop Slavery Worldwide Now!

With the approach of the World Cup in June of 2010 in South Africa, the world has a unique opportunity to shine the light on the horrendous worldwide problem of slavery — often called human trafficking — whose worldwide numbers are incredibly large.

Instead of telling you these huge numbers, we're going to talk about one eight-year-old girl:

Imagine being abducted at the age of eight and repeatedly sexually and physically abused until you are so ill that your battered body is dumped back where you were abducted months before.  Then only by the grace of God does your body recover.  But your mind?

This scenario or ones like it are repeated over and over again throughout the world, but particularly in certain countries.  And, yes, South Africa is one of the countries where this is a little known but huge problem.

As the world turns it focus to the World Cup games in South Africa, now is the time to act against this crime against humanity.

But awareness is not enough.  Action must follow awareness.  And here's what’s happening now:

Announcing the World Cup Stop Slavery Worldwide competition: “Slavery Isn’t Dead — How to Solve It?”
